“It felt amazing getting to see the result of all this hard work and effort by so many different people all for my benefit. I felt so humbled and grateful for the entire experience,” he told WHO.
Kiran has tried to maintain his fresh new look since the show has aired, saying he’s kept in contact with the hairdresser and stylist the show used.
“I think it wouldn’t be respectful to their hard work and effort if I didn’t. I looked and felt amazing and I wanted to keep it that way,” he said.
The law graduate, who works at a tech start-up, says he’s now learnt how to take greater pride in his appearance.
“I know how to present myself in a way that makes me feel more attrarcive and desirable. I think that knowledge does make it easier to go out there and meet new of course.
Bryanna was almost more excited that Kiran about the makeover, and cried during Kiran’s big reveal.
“[Her reaction] meant a lot to me. I was excited to see her face,” Kiran said.
During Sunday’s episode, the 30-year-old also opened up to Byranna about being a self-confessed “loner” for most of his life but says his confidence has since skyrocketed thanks to Beauty and the Geek.
“I’ve got 19 new friends as a result of the experience on the show which is amazing. I’ve got lifelong friends out of the experience,” he said.
“And it’s people from different backgrounds that I’m not used to. People that challenge me and push me to get out there more,” he said.
Kiran says growing up in a family of strong women mad it easier to be vulnerable with his Beauty Bryanna.
“I grew up in a family full of women, with two older sisters and a strong mother figure in my life. We were always quite open with each other, I think because we moved around so much growing up we usually only had each other for long periods of time,” he said.
Kiran also got candid about his previous relationships, and admits he has had interests in women before but it has never progressed too seriously.
“I’ve had my heart broken before but I don’t know if we necessarily go up to that stage [of a relationship]. Things tend to fizzle out quote quickly,” he said.
When asked by WHO if sparks were flying with Bryanna, Kiran remained tight-lipped.
“I can’t say too much about sparks flying. When I saw her on the water [in the first episode] I thought she was beautiful, and I was keen to meet her. I’ll say there’s chemistry,” he said.
Kiran says he is still in touch with all the Geeks, who are now his “friends for life”.
“I watched the first episode with Mitchell and George and I grew very close with Lachlan during the show as well,” he said.
Rumours have been swirling about George potentially being a paid actor after his previous acting work was uncovered.
But Kiran insists the entire cast is “exactly the same behind the scenes as they are off camera”.
“George is the biggest geek I know. He’s also such a lovely guy and such a pleasure to be roommates with him,” he said.
Kiran says he and George formed a close bond and would often confide in him and ask his advice on what to say to girls.
“I came into this experience a little bit sceptical and concerned that there could be two versions of people. But whoever was in charge of casting made a conscious effort to bring people who were there earnestly,” he said.
“Not everyone came for the same reason but everyone came for their correct reason.”
When asked which Geek is the most natural with the Beauties, Kiran responds: “Alex has game. He’s a very talented flirter”.
Kiran also heaped praise on all the beauties, saying all 10 women were genuine and “lovely”.
“It would be a privilege to be paired up with any of them but at the end of the day I was very glad to be paired with Bryanna,” he gushed.
“We didn’t fully know the reasons behind the different pairings but we understood that it was either to challenge us into dynamics that would help us grow or they were to bring out the best in us and reflect in each other,” he said.
