After Steve Willis aka The Commando spent 40 days and 40 nights eating just rice and coconut on The Survivor Australia, the beloved trainer was voted off the island.
What Michelle Bridges’ husband ever expected was that he’d become the biggest loser. His time in on the show saw his lose a whooping 7kgs.
His time on Australian Survivor: Champions Versus Contenders saw fans across the country celebrate his zen approach to the competition.
Unfortunately the man of a few words said his last at his final Tribal Council on Tuesday.
“I had resided in my fate, Dead Man Walking. The decision was in their hands and, at the end of the day, it came down to the empathetic, compassionate side of what it means to be human,” he said adding, “or the element within any person who wants to further their game.”
Since being cast off the island, the Commando has spoken out about his time.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 43-year-old was suprised by the physical changes to his body.
“Seven kilos doesn’t sound like a lot, but I was quite surprised that it wasn’t more for me.”
“You start to look quite withdrawn and gaunt,” he revealed, adding, “The lack of food didn’t challenge me as much as I thought it would.”

Commando has no regrets.
Taking to Instagram, he summed up his experience with his teammate Mat Rogers’ favourite Commando Survivor quote.
“You don’t win survivor, you get awarded it” Not a truer word spoken! 👊🏽”
