Gogglebox Australia’s Dr. Stuart Kidd has died

Former Gogglebox Australia star Dr. Stuart Kidd has committed suicide months after sharing his story of sexual abuse on ABC show You Can’t Ask That.

The news of Dr Kidd’s passing was revealed after this week’s episode of the controversial ABC series, where he opened up about the horrific sexual abuse he endured as a child and teenager.

The retired Blue Mountains doctor filmed the segment in November 2017, and took his own life in May this year.

The ABC explained that Dr Kidd and his wife viewed the episode before it went to air, and both were grateful for the opportunity.

“WOW! Gobsmacked. Speechless. Brilliant. A. MAZING! … Janet and I are both so very impressed and very grateful. WHAT a special ‘ministry’ you guys have of bringing these stories to everyday Aussies … Thank you,” an email from Dr Kidd to an ABC producer said.

Dr. Kidd appeared on Seasons 1 and 2 of Gogglebox with his wife, Janet, two sons Rodger and Michael, and Michael’s wife Elena.
