Married at First Sight Australia Season 10 is officially in full swing and fans want to know which couples stay together.
And despite their smooth sailing through the first weeks of the experiment, Sandy and Dan did not make it to the end of the experiment.
Why did Sandy and Dan leave MAFS?
Whilst their relationship was definitely bumpy, the butt-dial drama was the main catalyst behind their breakup.
The drama started when new groom Rupert went on a “boys’ night” out. During the heavy night of drinking, he accidentally called his wife, Evelyn.
“Naturally, I listened in….and I, unfortunately, heard what two of the husbands were saying about their wives.”
Evelyn then revealed that it was the conversation she heard from Dan which was “disgusting.”
“I kind of had a feeling from the ceremony that Dan was an a*****e, but that cemented my first assumptions,” she explained.
She then told Sandy who was originally told by Dan that he spent the evening with his daughter.
“I’m so glad you told me this because I thought I was going crazy, Sandy explained. “I’m done trying to protect who he really is.

At the commitment ceremony, Dan doubled down on what he believed to be the key factor in their relationship not working: That Sandy didn’t like the beach.
“My heart and my mind had been at conflict because that was one of the big things for me was having somebody that could share that with me,” he attempted to explain.
“Dan, a key ingredient to a healthy relationship is not the love of an ocean,” Expert John shot back.
“You might not be on the same page about water but there are a lot of more important ingredients to a healthy relationship, things like values, communication styles and time together versus time apart, admiration, praise…”
Finally, it was time for the couple to reveal if they wanted to stay or leave the experiment, and unsurprisingly they both chose to leave.
“I came here with an expectation that I was going to find someone that can really join me on my love of the ocean and the adventure and all that kind of stuff. And unfortunately, we were dealt a set of cards that was a little bit different to that. And it started to unravel a bit for me this week. I feel that this has been more of a friendship that we’ve been building, so I think the best thing for me to do is leave. The beach and the ocean is calling me and I have to go home,” shared Dan.
“I’ve had a really hard week. I miss my family. I want to go home and apologize to my parents,” shared Sandy.
“I didn’t come here to be disrespected. I came here to meet my person. I mean, it sucks when you start to form feelings for someone but I need to look after myself. As much as I care for Dan, I care for me more and I need to stand up for myself and respect myself. So I have to leave.”
But even before the couple’s exit from the show, fans had a pretty good idea that the couple were not going to make it. Why? Because Dan already spoiled his and Sandy’s Married At First Sight storyline by going public with his new girlfriend Samantha Symes as the series was airing.
The pair took to social media to show off their relationship, posting videos of their trip to Movie World. The Daily Mail reported that his new girlfriend even attended his MAFS wedding.
But it seems like Dan has moved on, with Samntha confirming to Daily Mail Australia that they had split after three months.
“Dan and I have decided to end our relationship. It wasn’t meant to be,” she said.
Following news of their split, rumours have circulated that Dan has now moved on with Gold Coast influencer Chloe Patterson.
Chloe fuelled rumours after posting a photo of a bouquet of flowers as well as a selfie with Dan.
“When you change your name to ‘The Ocean’ so he buys you flowers,” she captioned the photo.
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday to Wednesday, 7:30pm, and Sunday, 7pm, on Nine Network and 9Now.
