Caitlin’s time on the MAFS experiment was a far cry from success. The 27-year-old makeup artist was paired with Shannon, and whilst things appeared to be going smoothly at the start – their relationship quickly fell apart after Shannon revealed he was still not over his ex.

In the months following the show, Shannon has revealed he and his ex-fiancee are expecting a child together.

Although her time on the show was cut short, Caitlin quickly became a fan favourite, with audiences praising her strength during one of the more challenging relationships in the MAFS experiment.

When making the decision to leave the show Caitlin took to Instagram to share her reasoning.

“I think, in many relationships, there can come a time where staying means compromising yourself,” she wrote.

“Compromising yourself to a degree that is no longer healthy and threatens your sense of self. We start to lose sight of who we are and what we stand for. We start to lose our voices and make ourselves smaller to try to appease the other person. We start accepting poor behaviour and forgetting what it is we deserve.”

“Tonight, I’m walking away – for the woman I used to be, who stayed in the wrong situations for far too long, for the woman I am today, who is working on breaking her own toxic cycles, and for the women in similar situations, who need a reminder that they are worth so much more.”
