Elizabeth Sobinoff endured a rough trot on Married at First Sight, but the reality star has a history facing problems far greater than her husband Sam’s unkind antics.
Amid some cruel and ignorant comments from social media users about her appearance and behaviour while she was on the show, Elizabeth, 27, has supplied these pictures of her skin and scalp to WHO to show the truth about what she has to deal with.
The reality star reveals she was battling two chronic health conditions while her TV husband was passing unkind comments about her body and her appearance; the first a blood disorder called Porphyria, which can affect the organs, nervous system and skin. The problem is often inflamed by sun exposure

Her other battle is with an auto-immune condition, a mild form of Lupus that is also ignited by sunlight exposure. Both conditions can affect her mood and behaviour.
The end result is that she can be plagued by burning and blistering skin, and at its worst she has lost clumps of hair from her scalp – necessitating the use of extensions.
‘It’s hard when you wake up with clumps in your bed,’ she told Nine.

‘A lot of people also said, “You’ve had your lips done”, but that’s swelling, and you can even see at the beginning when filming the wedding when I’m doing my makeup my skin is smooth.
‘As I’m talking to the makeup artist, you can see red blotches coming up and that’s literally within half an hour of the light hitting my skin.’
She now avoids sunlight, and uses creams to manage flare ups.
‘I want to talk about this to help others know you can still be confident’, she explains.
