Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant may have the only real relationship on Married at First Sight, but their TV engagement moment was staged, if these pictures are any indication.

Published by the MAFS Funny Instagram account, these grabs of Jules’ ring incessantly changing hands during her engagement sequence appears to indicate that the happy moment was restaged multiple times for the cameras.
‘You’ve changed me into a man that I’m prouder to be, a person that I feel confident to give solely to you and you only,’ gushed Cam in the apparently choreographed sequence.
‘You’re nothing short of perfect. Fate brought us together and for this I am forever grateful. Jules, I’m happy that I took this chance with you and I honestly can’t imagine a day without you.
‘So today, this isn’t about committing to you as we are, it’s about giving you and us the moment that we missed coming into this experiment.’
The latest editing scandal follows a string of examples where key moments in the show have clearly been staged and misleadingly spliced together to create narratives.
While these scenes might be faked or reshot numerous times, by all accounts the actual engagement and the relationship itself are very real. The couple have told 9Honey that they’ve already set the date.
‘This year,’ says Jules. ‘This year sometime.’
She’s also reportedly picked two MAFS co-stars to be in the bridal party – Heidi Latcham and Melissa Lucarelli.
