The star, 28, first battled testicular cancer four years ago, and has openly discussed the diagnosis on the show. But after the first run of filming ended, he found another lump on his testicle around Christmas.
The news came before the cast returned to film the reunion segment of the show.
‘I couldn’t believe it,’ he told 9 Honey. ‘Four years later… there was so much going on in my life, for it to come back, I’m still in shock that it came back.
‘You think being that young and having dealt with it once, surely that’s it.’
Nic discovered the abnormality while checking himself in the show, and sought clarification from a doctor, who confirmed the disease had returned. He was then left struggling with the impact of the news.
‘How does it come back? Why? What have I done to deserve this? What have I done? What am I doing wrong?’ he recalls of his feelings.
Bizarrely, Nic chose to delay treatment by a week so he could complete MAFS filming.
He underwent treatment in January, and he says he is now free of the disease following surgery and chemotherapy.
