As one of the more experienced couples on this year’s season, Leah, 31, and Ash, 38, were ones to watch on The Block in 2023.

But a shocking Auction Day saw the couple walk away with nothing as their beautiful renovation project failed to sell.

Now, the Brisbane couple have shared the exciting news that their Charming Street home is officially off the market.

“We can finally reveal our Block House just got snatched up by a family….to live in!,” the couple wrote on Instagram. “From the very beginning, our aim was not just to build, but to pour our hearts into every corner, hoping to find someone who would appreciate our creation.”

According to Domain, Leah and Ash’s house sold for $3.125 million on February 22, 2024, with the couple taking home a total profit of $155,000.

During the show, the couple had listed their reserve price as $2.97 million before deciding to pass in on the auction. Since then, the house remained on the market with an asking price of $3.2 million before dropping to $3.125 million after Christmas.

Domain also shared that the sale of the property follows a bidding war between two buyers, with one believed to have been a “high-profile celebrity.”

Despite their sale occurring many months after the finale, Leah and Ash’s total profit places them in third place among their fellow contestants, beating both Kyle and Leslie and Kristy and Brett for total profit.

Before joining the show, the Brisbane couple had ran their own business and had completed several house flips, including their own.

“We’ve done renovations before, we’ve run our little building company back up in Queensland, so we came in thinking we could do this … [but] it is way harder than we had ever anticipated,” Leah told WHO.

With three little ones at home, the couple are used to being busy. And while they’re both not afraid to express their opinions, when it comes to the final decisions, Leah usually comes out on top.

“We bicker like a husband and wife do,” Ash jokes. “And the wife usually wins.”

As Leah and Ash celebrate the end of their Block journey, we’re looking back at their time on the season and every room they delivered.

Backyard and Pool

This week, the five couples tackled landscaping. With drama behind the scenes continuing to brew and finances getting tight, the teams had a tough week.

With just half a point difference between the top two teams, Steph and Gian took out the win with 38 out of 40 points.

Losing by just half a point, Leah and Ash also delivered an incredible backyard which the judges loved. Their use of space was highly praised as was their plunge pool and BBQ area.

Upstairs bathroom and redo rooms

This week, the five couples tackled not one but two rooms; the upstairs bathroom and a ‘re-do’ of a room of their choice. With drama behind the scenes continuing to brew the teams had a tough week. Whilst Eliza and Liberty took out the win, another team was unable to present a finished room.

The upstairs bathroom delivered by Leah and Ash was a huge hit with the judges, as was their transformation of the downstairs work-from-home space which was converted into an extra bedroom.

The pair were awarded a score of 27 out of 30.

Kids’ Rooms Week

This week, the five couples tackled not one but two children’s rooms. With drama behind the scenes continuing to brew, the teams had a tough week, but all five ultimately delivered stunning rooms.

Steph and Gian took out the win this week with perfect full marks.

Leah and Ash came in a close second with their children’s bedrooms earning high praise from the judges thanks to the bold styling and graphic wallpaper. The only criticism was the use of a day bed instead of a normal single bed.

The pair were awarded a score of 28 out of 30.

Master Ensuite Bathroom Week

This week of the season saw the five couples tackle another difficult space on The Block – the master ensuite bathroom.

Amidst a week of high tension and a lot of drama, both Eliza and Liberty and Kristy and Brett tied in first place.

The judges were impressed with the grand scale of Leah and Ash’s ensuite bathroom and the large shower, however, the team’s styling was critiqued as “juvenile.”

The pair were awarded a score of 23.5 out of 30.

Kitchen and Laundry week

The seventh week of the season saw the five couples tackle another massive space on The Block – the Kitchen and Laundry.

Eliza and Liberty took out their first win of the season with a near-perfect room, scoring 29 out of 30 points.

Despite the “look” of Leah and Ash’s space being praised by the judges, they had huge issues with the small size of the island bench and the placement of the sink. The placement of the laundry was also critiqued, as you need to walk through the bathroom to access it.

Bedroom and walk-in robes

The sixth week of the season saw the five couples tackle another massive space on The Block – the bedroom and walk-in robes.

Steph and Gian ultimately won the week with a near-perfect room, scoring 29 out of 30 points.

Leah and Ash’s risky curved ceiling was a huge hit with the judges however the lack of furniture and functionality of the space proved detrimental to their score. The judges also critiqued Leah and Ash’s styling and lack of storage, with the team coming third.

The pair were awarded a score of 23.5 out of 30.

Leah and Ash ultimately won the week with their bold, unique room.

The judges praised Leah and Ash’s bold and unique style, although they pointed out the house’s character may be polarizing when on the market.

The pair were awarded a score of 29 out of 30.

Down Stairs Bathroom

The fourth week of the season saw the five couples tackle the downstairs bathroom and the competition was close, to say the least.

Leah and Ash ultimately won the week by a nail-biting half a point thanks to the use of their gnome which gave the couple an extra point. Kristy and Brett were close on their heels in second place.

The judges loved the marble and art-deco decorating on the stunning room, with Marty noting it felt like Leah and Ash had begun to listen to their advice from previous weeks.

The pair were awarded a score of 27 out of 30. They also used their gnome, which made their score 28 out of 30.

Work From Home Space

The third week of the season saw the five couples tackle the work-from-home space and whilst all teams did finish, it was a race to the finish line as wet weather wreaked havoc.

In the end, week three saw Steph and Gian win for the second time in a row! Kyle and Leslie missed out on the top spot by only half a point which is amazing considering they only spent $13,917 in total.

The biggest issue the judges had with Leah and Ash’s room was that it was only a study and the space did not allow for a potential fourth bedroom, unlike all other houses on The Block. There were also some major functionality issues.

The pair were awarded a score of 22.5 out of 30.

Studio Room

The second week of the season saw the five couples tackle the granny flat, appropriately re-named the studio. With tense body corporate meetings, alliances forming and drama almost every day, the week was a big one and as judging commenced, it was clear that not every team followed the brief.

The judges liked Leah and Ash’s choice of timber flooring…but not much else. Darren said the studio gave him “display home vibes” and the judges felt the Murphy pull-down bed was an odd choice, as was the placement of the furniture.

Guest Bathroom

The first week of the season saw the five couples tackle one of the hardest rooms – the bathroom. From demolishing the wrong room, to hiring new builders and even allegations of cheating, the first official week on the Block was full of drama.

Leah and Ash’s bold, curvy bathroom was a hit with the judges, however, they were warned to be careful not to run with the unique style throughout the entire house as it could put off buyers.

House Decider Challenge

The debut episode of the season saw the five couples compete in a house decider challenge to decide which house they will get for the remainder of the season.

The challenge saw the teams given 48 hours and a budget of $5000 to create a kid’s room based on a Disney+ character.

Leah and Ash were given one of the more unusual Disney+-themed items – a National Geographic puzzle. The Queensland couple spent $4992 on their build which included custom-built bunkbeds that looked like a castle.

The pair nailed the brief and were awarded a score of 27 out of 30.
