The Block is officially back for another season in 2023, and so far the show has been heavy on the drama.
The premiere episode welcomed audiences to Darling Street and introduced the five new teams competing as well as the five houses up for renovation this season.
From Victoria, we have sisters Eliza and Liberty who have no previous building experience. Married couple Leah and Ash from Queensland who share three kids will also be competing in the 2023 season. South Australia’s team are married couple Kristy and Brett, as are Kyle and Leslie from Western Australia who have two kids. Architect Steph and her childhood sweetheart-turned-husband Gian from New South Wales will also be competing.

Front Gardens and Facade
The final week of the competition saw all five couples tackle more landscaping. With drama behind the scenes continuing to brew and finances getting tight, the teams had a tough week.
With just half a point difference between the top two teams, Leah and Ash took out the win with 38 out of 40 points.
Leah and Ash
Leah and ASh took out the win this week with all four judges loving House No.2’s garden and facade. As they judging pannel walked through the completed house for the final time they loved how well the space came together, including an incredible staircase which added a ‘wow’ factor.
The pair were awarded a score of 38 out of 40.

Steph and Gian
Steph and Gian came in close second, trailing behind Leah and Ash by only half a point. The front garden and facade impressed the judges, who’s only feedback was a lack of lighting throughout the house’s hallways.

Kristy and Brett
The plant choice and functional use of space were loved by the judges who felt Kristy and Brett’s home would appeal to a variety of buyers.

Eliza and Liberty
A great effort from Eliza and Liberty in the final week of The Block, with their choice of timber and plant choice in the front of the house a hit with the judges.

Kyle and Leslie
The turntable in front of Kyle and Leslie’s house was a massive hit with the judges, making a great first impression, however, the grey colour of the house was critiqued.
