Reba McEntire has split from her boyfriend of two years, Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo.

Rumours began swirling they’d called time on their romance when a source friendly with the pair told Closer Weekly that Reba’s “busy schedule and Skeeter’s way of life — he’s retired — just didn’t mesh very well.”
The American country singer finally confirmed the news with Us Weekly this afternoon when a journalist asked whether she was planning to spend the holidays with the retired oil geologist.
“Skeeter and I broke up in May, so, unfortunately, we will not be spending that time together,” the 64-year-old said during an interview about her upcoming movie, Spies in Disguise. “We still talk and we’re friends, but just decided to go our separate ways.”
The Consider Me Gone singer— who said in April she was “totally in love”— first met Skeeter in 2017 while vacationing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She was introduced to the 70-year-old by a friend of her pal Kix Brooks— who’s famous for being one half of the iconic country duo Brooks & Dunn.
“Kix and Barbara Brooks thought it’d be a good idea, since we were gonna be up around Yellowstone, to get Kix’s best friend’s wife’s brother to show us around. He’s a photographer in Jackson Hole,” she explained to Taste of Country in 2018. “I made another trip to Jackson Hole, because I just love it up there, and he asked me out for a date — just the two of us. And we’ve been dating ever since.”
Their whirlwind relationship came after the singer announced she’d split from her ex-husband, Narvel Blackstock in 2015. After 26 years together, they confirmed in a joint statement that despite closing the chapter on their relationship, they would “continue to support each other” and work together.
Opening up their divorce, the Grammy winner said the choice was her husband’s.
“Well, the divorce was not my idea,” she told CMT in 2016. “I didn’t want it in any shape, form or fashion. So it was really hard to make the adjustment when someone’s not happy.”
“I just want everyone to be happy in their lives because our lives are too short to be miserable. I just thought it was the best thing to take my marbles and go play somewhere else, is what Daddy used to always say.”
The former couple shares a 29-year-od son together named Shelby Blackstock.
