As thousands of people come to terms with the devastation the Australian wildfires have caused, Rebecca Judd is out here complaining about the Melbourne dust storm affecting the colour of her pool.
WATCH: Bec Judd slammed for footage showing off her murky pool
Taking to her Instagram story, the AFL WAG shared footage of her murky pool—which is located in her $7.3 million mansion— showing her followers that it had changed colour.
She accompanied the video with a caption which read: “We are slowly fighting back from the dust storm. I’ve had my pool guy over this morning. Sorry to all the pool guys in Melbourne inundated with thousands of calls this morning,” she wrote, adding a laughing face emoji.
After her comments sparked outrage and grabbed the attention of ABC News reporter Jen Browning, the journalist took to Twitter to express her disappointment, suggesting Bec is out of touch with reality.
“I’m sorry your pool got dirty @becjudd – at least you have a pool with water in it, try not having enough water to do anything but keep you & your animals alive – & how about considering what it’s like to face dust 10x what poor Melbourne had at least 3-4 times per week,” she wrote.
An hour later, Bec shared a photo of her clean pool, with Jen hitting back, writing: “Update – Bec’s pool is clean! Maybe her pool boy could come backwash my house.”
She continued: “Have a think next time before you tell everyone how you’re slowly “fighting back” from the tiny dust storm you had.
“How about considering what it’s like to face dust 10 [times] what poor Melbourne had at least three or four times a week. Seriously! Oh, and most of NSW can’t water their lawns let alone their pool tiles.”
Bec has since removed the photos and videos from her Instagram account.
Other followers of the former weather presenter sided with Jen, branding Bec “insensitive”.
“I saw it too and got so annoyed. Also if you’re going to show a pool with dust in it, at least do it properly,” one person Tweeted.
“Incredible to see what one perceived as fighting back. Maybe she could swap houses with you for a month? And then talk about “fighting back” … the tears, frustration, heartbreak. She’s got no idea Jen.”
“At last, a call-out against pompous first world problems that are nothing when you live in the bush.”
“Bec 1 Nature 0 #FightingBack,” another person sarcastically added. “Bec’s resilience in the face of adversity is a true inspiration #becjudd”.
