After four gruelling years of IVF, Gretchen Rossi is a mum at 40-years-old!
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum welcomed her first child on July 10, revealing she and her fiancé Slade Smiley are officially parents to a beautiful baby girl.
“Skylar Grey is here. They are doing well. They went in about 9 a.m. for a C-section at a hospital in Orange Country,” Gretchen’s rep told UsWeekly.
The happy couple revealed their pregnancy news in December while appearing on an episode of The Doctors. The stunning revelation came after achieving a vasectomy reversal on Slade’s part and dozens of rounds of in vitro fertilisation.
“We knew that we had to go through IVF in order to get pregnant,” Gretchen told PEOPLE at the time. “There’s been a roller coaster of emotions through this and I don’t want to pretend, especially for all the couples out there going through this, it’s not an easy journey — it really is not. Yes, we have definitely grown through this, thank goodness.”
“It’s been a little bit harder than I definitely anticipated,” she also told Page Six of finally becoming pregnant. “I think they lie to you when they tell you you’re gonna get morning sickness. They lie to you — it’s all-day sickness! But the good news is that my doctor told me that’s actually a good sign.”
The couple’s newborn daughter joins Slade’s two sons from previous relationships, Gavin and Grayson.
