With her weight once plummeting to a dangerously low 45 kilograms, PR maven Roxy Jacenko says she’s now much more relaxed when it comes to her diet and fitness routine. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Sweaty Betty founder says she’s “no longer starving herself” and instead enjoys three healthy meals and snacks.

“Breakfast is now a Di Stefano skim piccolo and UberEats porridge from Indigo Double Bay, or a bagel with Vegemite from Smoking Gun Bagels,” the 39-year-old said. “Lunch at the moment is soups at the office, partly because this winter has been so freezing!”

In the evening, the mum-of-two says she relies on her housekeeper to make “incredible dishes like seafood paella or chicken pie” so she can spend time with her daughter Pixie and son Hunter.

After her husband, Oliver Curtis, was imprisoned for insider trading in 2016, Roxy says the stress of his absence took a toll on her mental health and caused her weight to plummet.

“It was a culmination of some seriously challenging times for me personally, Oliver’s sentencing to jail, being diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks after that, and then the pressure of running a business and juggling kids,” she said.

Reflecting on mental state, the Australian socialite also told Mamamia‘s No Filter podcast at the time that she was “out of control”.

“I mean, anyone who looks at my Instagram from two years ago and sees a 49 kilo human… like, it’s not normal. I didn’t eat, I was taking drugs, I was drinking myself into a stupor.

I look back now and I’m embarrassed. I thought it was an achievement. It wasn’t an achievement, it was sick in the head.”

Roxy says she later decided to turn her life around so she could be a better mother to her two little ones.

“I had to make changes to be able to be a good mother, have the ability to focus, and to be healthy,” she told the Daily Mail.
