Where do William and Kate live while in London?
When coming to London for events like Trooping the Colour or Kate’s Christmas Carols Service, the Wales family stay at Kensington Palace.
William and Kate occupy Apartment 1A within the palace complex, which is the known to be the biggest with 20 rooms spread across four floors.

It was formerly the home of Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth, until her death in 2002.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they were at the time, moved into Apartment 1A with a infant Prince George in 2013, following a $2 million renovation.
Other royal residents include the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Princess Eugenie.

Palace insider Victoria Arbiter previously told WHO it is like “Melrose Place, but for royals”.
William and Kate have given a few glimpses into their living quarters at the Palace, including in 2016, when then-President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama met the royals inside.
The stunning interiors perfectly combine the traditional with the contemporary and include antique oil paintings, framed photos, ceramic lamps and historic furnishings from the royal archives.

Kate is known to have done much of the decorating for Apartment 1A herself, rather than enlisting professionals.
In Spare, Prince Harry described how “magnificent” his brothers home was and said it was “like a museum”.
“The wallpaper, the ceiling trim, the walnut bookshelves filled with volumes of peaceful colours, priceless works of art,” Harry wrote of the home.
Do William and Kate still live in Kensington Palace?
Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace was the main home of the Wales family from 2013 until 2022.
Their main residence is now at Forest Lodge in Windsor.

“We were in London but moved there for more green space. It’s close enough to London, not too far away,” Kate said.
They continue to use Kensington Palace as their base when they are in the city, as well as keeping their office there.
The couple also maintain a country home, Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
