Ryan Phillippe has been forced to stop filming the second season of Shooter after suffering a broken leg, Deadline has reported.
Paramount TV released a statement regarding the incident, announcing the season has been cut short by two episodes: “Our priority is Ryan’s recovery, and after conversations with our partners at USA and UCP we’ve decided that we will wrap S2 with episode 208.”
The 42-year-old actor, who is father of three, explained to fans via Twitter that the injury happened whilst on a family outing, not on the set of the TV drama.
“I didn’t injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of shooter. i was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday. My leg is badly broken & required surgical attention,” he wrote. “But i will make a full recovery, am in good hands, and will be back in action soon.”
