The 37-year-old claims that his right shoulder was severely damaged in 2014 when Melbourne Health and Fitness trainer, Jeremy Strong ignored Ben’s complaints about the weight of the bar he was bench pressing and encouraged him to continue despite his struggle.

“It is unlikely, given the nature of his injury, that [Ben] will ever achieve pre-injury level of drumming skills to enable him to tour or return to his previous ability,” the statement reads.

The Herald Sun has reported that Gillies is seeking undisclosed damages from the health center including the loss of income as his injuries forced him to pull out of performing for eight months.

He also had to turn down roles on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Celebrity Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother.
