After finding love on The Bachelorette and scoring a “dream job” co-hosting Sydney’s 2DAYFM breakfast show Rove & Sam alongside Rove McManus, 2016 was suppose to be a stellar year for Sam Frost.

But life in the spotlight took its toll on the 27-year-old with online trolls and harsh critics leaving her in a “horrendous” and “dark place.”

“I can’t even relate to the person I was this time last year,” Frost tells WHO.

However, with the help of a psychologist (who she sees weekly) and her support network – including boyfriend Sasha Mielczarek (who is her “No.1 fan!”) – Frost says she’s “come so far.”

“I still have my moments but the majority of the time is more positive than negative, which means I’m on the right track,” she says, adding she’s hoping her platform will show how hurtful online bullying can be.

In recent weeks there has been speculation about her health based on her recent weight loss, but Frost she’s used to the criticism. “I lose weight in summer because I’m doing more,” she says. “The same thing happened last year and the same thing happened next year.”

She also quashed any rumours of trouble in her relationship with Mielczarek. “We are great! But that’s really boring for the media,” she laughs. “We celebrated our one-year anniversary on July 10, which was when we filmed the finale of the show. It was bizarre, the circumstances we met, but now we are like any normal couple!”
