Bachelorette star Sam Frost has revealed she hit breaking point last year, after her split from her Bachelorette beau, Sasha Mielczarek.
Frost also revealed that the axing of her Sydney breakfast radio show sent her to a ‘very dark place’.
“I reached breaking point last year. I was like oh my goodness I am really, really struggling with my mental health,’’ the 28-year-old told the Herald Sun.
“The trolls and the criticism were relentless. I just thought I am a good person, I am a wonderful friend, I am a wonderful sister and I work hard and I am grounded, I don’t understand why people are being so horrible to me.”
Sam told News Corp she went back to Melbourne to be with family and friends, before turning to a psychologist for help.
“As soon as I finished radio (in late November) I spent three months in Melbourne with my friends and family, no one knew where I was,’’ she added.
“To be honest that how I got through the break up (and) the work shift. I do love Melbourne, it is amazing.’’
“I did research, I think it is really important to find the right psychologist, then I met this phenomenal, phenomenal lady and I could tell she got me straight away.
“I started seeing her and I’ve seen her every week since. It is expensive but it is worth it. It costs me a bloody fortune.”
“It has definitely made me have a different attitude towards 2017. I am like I need to own my space, keep moving forward and try and not let the little stuff bug me.”
Frost also discussed the “tsunami-like levels” of online abuse she was subject to following her split.
“I still cop it from time to time, people are constantly talking about my weight fluctuating, how boring,” she said.
