When Schapelle Corby returned home to Australia in 2017 after nearly a decade behind bars, a bunch of cheeky Millennials thought it’d be a funny idea to create a Facebook page titled Schapelle Corby for The Bachelorette 2018.

While most of us rolled our eyes, the page eventually amassed over 12, 000 likes.
Yep, people were really desperate for the wildly notorious convicted drug trafficker to seal the deal hand out those roses.
Despite the fact Schapelle has always hinted she’d consider joining the dating series, the 41-year-old recently set the record straight, telling The Daily Telegraph she’s not keen on being thrust back into the spotlight.
“I’m not in the right frame of mind to do these things,” she told the outlet, adding that not only was she asked to star in the show but she’s happy with her boyfriend, Ben Panangian. “I’m still becoming comfortable with life.”
The Queenslander, who was convicted of smuggling 4.2 kilograms of cannabis into Indonesia, has been dating Ben for over 13 years. The couple met while they were both serving time for drug charges. While Schapelle says they’re more loved up than ever, Ben is unable to move to Australia meaning they holiday overseas together once a year.
“I’m very lucky to have found Ben in such dismal circumstances,” she said of her 38-year-old beau who recently gifted her a commitment ring for her wedding finger. “He’s been in my life before my mental illness, so he knows what I was like beforehand, he knew me during and he knows me now and he still apparently loves me and I believe he really does love me.”
Back in April, Ben and Schapelle enjoyed a lush getaway, sharing a photo to Instagram showing the pair holding hand on Nai Yang Beach in Phuket, with an Air Asia flight appearing over their heads.
“He is my Four Leaf clover; hard to find & lucky to have,” she captioned the cute snap, asking others to tag someone they love in the post.
A year before their romantic getaway, the couple met up in Singapore and later headed to a beach resort in Vietnam where they enjoyed a two-week vacation.
