Shanina Shaik is one of the world’s most in-demand models. Strutting the catwalk for the likes of Victoria Secret, Oscar de la Renta and Chanel, she is barely at home in New York for more than a few days before jetting off somewhere new.
But the Melbourne-born model says she couldn’t do it all, and still maintain a relationship, if she didn’t have the support of her fiancé, Gregory Andrews, aka DJ Rukus.

“He is proud and supportive of me and he understands my aspirations and goals,” says Shaik, who has returned home to Australia as Seafolly’s new ambassador.
“I would say my Mum is my No.1fan, so I guess that makes him my No.2.”

While the DJ—he has spun for the likes of Oprah, Steven Spielberg and Kanye West—didn’t accompany Shaik to Australia this time, she says he’s a big fan of her home country.
“He absolutely loves it,” the 25-year-old says. “It’s one of his favourite places to travel and he definitely wants to come back.”
“He knows I get very excited coming back home to Australia. He knows it’s a time for me to be at peace with myself and be around my family. He knows how very special Australia is to me because it’s my home.
