Sonia Kruger has been confirmed as host of the all-new Big Brother 2020.

The news was announced on Big Brother’s official Instagram.
In a short video that opened with the words ‘I spy with my little eye’, pictures of Sonia were shown with the word ‘HOST’ across them.
“Big Brother has spoken and Sonia Kruger will helm the new game. Channel Seven is very excited to have Sonia on board for a thrilling new era of Big Brother,” a Channel 7 spokeperson said.
Sonia is a veteran of the show – which debuted in 2001 – having previously hosted between 2012 and 2014.
This time around however, the show looks to be a whole lot different. There’s a new house, new rules and no live format.
The show’s official Instagram page merely states “The game has changed”. But, according to a report on industry website TV Blackbox, the new format will be akin to ‘Survivor in a warehouse’.
The publication also shared that the show will be filmed in Sydney at the same location used for The Biggest Loser Australia: Couples.
Sonia’s announcement as Big Brother 2020 host comes mere months after she announced she was leaving Channel Nine.
The 54-year-old confirmed she’d be returning to Channel Seven in a statement, “I’m beyond excited to be returning to the network where I first discovered my love of live television and family entertainment.”
“With the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo and a slate of brand-new prime-time shows, Seven is the place to be,” she added.
Channel 7 will certainly be keeping Sonia busy. As well as Big Brother 2020, she’s also set to host Mega Mini Golf and act as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent: The Champions.
Her first gig at her new home channel airs on Sunday, February 16 and will see her present the bushfire relief concert Fight Fire Australia.
