And while that might seem like only yesterday for many of us, time hasn’t stood still for British singer Sophie since she dropped off the radar for most Australians. She’s just given birth to her FIFTH son. Yes, that’s right – she has five kids.

‘He’s here!’ she announced today on Instagram. ‘Mickey Jones born today weighing 7lb 1oz and he’s absolutely gorgeous.’

Sophie revealed in a TV interview just a day before the birth that she didn’t know the sex of the baby, despite a lot of mounting pressure to have a girl after her run of boys.

‘This one is… a baby, for sur,’ she said. ‘I don’t know what I’m having. I’ve never found out.’

The star, who says she loves having a ‘very busy, eccentric, chaotic family’, often shares pictures of her kids, Sonny, 14, Kit, nine, Ray, six, and Jesse, two.

Although she says she finds a way to juggle her career with all her kids thanks to child care, the star’s new orchestral greatest hits album has now been pushed back to March.

‘[Motherhood] has made me a better performer, a better artist, a happier person,’ she told Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

‘I wouldn’t say it’s harder. In fact, I think it’s made a lot of things have real clarity for me, actually. I wouldn’t have done half the things I’ve done if I hadn’t become a mum.’

Congratulations, Sophie!
