“This photo was taken at our wedding at Hopewood House in Bowral. This was just after our ceremony where we had all our friends and family celebrating with us. The wedding day was magical because we had made each detail very personal including signing our vows using sign language, baby goats at the ceremony and our wiggly friends playing music at the reception. For us, the beauty in this memory is that this was the moment we had together that day to soak in all in.”

“This photo was taken during some recent filming we did in Melbourne. It was taken by our friend Steven and we both love this photo because it captures us both laughing. Lachy must have been telling me something funny, as he usually does, and he caught the moment. I fell in love with Lachy the moment I saw him and this photo reminds me of that first day.”

“Banjo & me in the dog park one afternoon, after work in March, near our house. Even though he loves hanging out with the other puppies, he loves me the most! I love being around Banjo because he attracts good people & good energy. Banjo is a great stress release, you don’t worry about your troubles – he just makes me happy.”

“Just being myself and having fun with friends at Hobart Cup. This was taken just two weeks before I go the call from The Bachelorette producers and my life changed forever.”

“My husband always tells me that he thinks I am beautiful when I am fresh faced. And unlike me, he probably only takes one photo a year – and this is his favourite photo of me, he took it when we were in Hawaii on holiday last year watching a beautiful pink sunset. I love that you can see my freckles and lines and pores and the little sweat beads I’ve been getting on my nose ever since I was a little kid. For a long time I was insecure about my freckles and didn’t feel beautiful without make up on – but he has made me love myself more, because he sees the beauty in the things I used to think were imperfections.”

“This picture was taken in North Bondi this summer, January 2017. It is special because it has my three loves in it: the ocean, Bondi and my nephew George. When he was born, I was still living in London. He was just kind of a blob: he cried and he ate and he slept, and that was it. But still, I had this unconditional love for him. It’s strange to have such a connection with something that doesn’t really give you anything back, as such, but he would lie there and I thought, gosh, he’s perfect.”

“This is me on the Gold Coast with my manager’s puppy Nala. The first time we met, she got so excited she actually bit me and drew blood. It was painful! Then, the second time, we just fell in love. She came and sat on my lap, wouldn’t leave me alone on the guest bed. She followed me everywhere. It’s a love affair. I didn’t know my manager was taking this photo. I just want to eat her up … she’s just the most gorgeous little thing.”

“This is a photo of me in character as Gina on my new show Seven Types of Ambiguity. I don’t think I’m overly natural in front of a camera; if I were taller and thinner, I still don’t think I’d be a good model. Other people probably shared photos from honeymoons or something, but I chose this because I just fell in love with this character, and this shot reminds me of her as her best.

“I’m not eyeballing the lens, the picture is a bit mischievous. That’s what I like about it. I like the expression I’m making. A lot of the other shots of me from this shoot were really intense, just me looking down the lens. I don’t find that quite as beautiful. There’s a little something extra here.”

“The most beautiful moment I know is the moment I can bury my nose in a book. Brains are beautiful, and I feel that the most when I can untether mine, and let it go arm in arm with my imagination, into a world of story. I am forever sneaking off to read in tucked away corners on set, found lost in thought and wistful, by a member of the crew.”

“This photo was taken just before I walked the red carpet at The Logies last year. I was 4 months pregnant with my twin boys and my head was still spinning from the shock news. This event was extra special as not only was I carrying 2 babies, but I knew it would be the last time I’d ever be pregnant and I was cherishing being able to share a special red carpet moment with my last babies.

“Of course the gown, diamonds and glam hair and makeup help, but for me, there is nothing more beautiful than growing new life, so to mix the two elements on this occasion was magical.”

“I adore this picture of my parents with me as a baby. The way that my Dad looks at my mum and I is full of affection. Whenever I’m back in Darwin he’ll still look at Mum the same way and ask me “how beautiful does your Mum look today?”. I was able to be confident because my parents always told me that brown is beautiful and I was capable of anything.”

“Audrey and I were married in Wollombi in the lower Hunter Valley in late December 2016. She looked positively stunning wearing a flower crown from her native Fiji, her beautiful face framed by glorious tumbling tresses of hair. We made sure that Audrey’s daughter Georgia was a big part of the day, and she helped us plan the ceremony – including having our cavoodle Frankie be the ring bearer.

“At first, I was a little sceptical because he is more “oodle” than anything else, which makes him pretty jumpy. Yet when it came time for his big moment, he came right over to us and laid down as if he’s some kind of highly-trained movie dog. My fears of Frank sprinting off to chase the ducks in the dam were allayed and a few moments after this photo was taken, my friend Abby (Coleman) our celebrant, pronounced us as husband and wife.”

On not wearing shoes at the wedding: “I spoke at length with my psychologist beforehand as to ways I could avoid disassociating with the moment (which I’m prone to do) so we burned a beautiful candle gifted to us, and I’m barefoot to make sure that I could anchor to the feeling of the ground beneath my feet and scent in the air. It was really a very effective way to stay present.

“I love this photo; it brings back so many good memories. Sunsets in Fiji with Kitty playing on the beach, everyone so relaxed, so healthy, so happy. It’s a feeling and a memory I wish I could bottle and keep forever.”

“This was taken at the water at the bottom of Casa Privata in Praiano, Italy, at the start of our two-month holiday in Europe last year. My oldest son Bugsy was about to turn five and we were waiting for the water taxi. Spending time with my boys on this trip was one of the great experiences of my life.

“This photo represents taking the time to listen—my little boys are just the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. I’m pretty sure I was explaining to Bugsy here that he’d already had a gelato and couldn’t have another. If something makes me feel beautiful, it’s my children. As time takes its toll, it’s nice to know that my genes went OK with my wife Michelle’s to produce a couple of divine little humans.”

“This picture was taken a couple of years ago in Thailand. I had just come back from a volunteering trip with UNWomen, followed by a solo trek through Cambodia. It was the night before I flew back home, and it captures exactly what I was feeling. I left that trip with a strong sense of achievement and adventure, and the ocean was the perfect place to celebrate it.

“Having grown in up in Sydney, I never quite appreciated our beach culture, but having since lived and traveled abroad, I’ve fallen in love with all it has to offer. The ocean has an undeniable strength, and it’s become synonymous with home for me – it’s become an integral part of who I am. I love being in the water – it gives me a sense of home and peace, and that’s what makes me feel beautiful.”

“Our first holiday as a family of three. It turns out babies and beaches don’t mix particularly well, so lots of beautiful walks and afternoon naps instead!

 2. The annual Easter egg hunt is a tradition in my husband’s family. This was taken just after Jack’s first egg hunt – lucky for me he was too young to eat the chocolate!

3. Singing on stage is my happy place. Show me someone in a bad mood singing a show tune. Doesn’t happen.”
