As more shocking details about Jules Robinson and Melissa Lucarelli’s bitter feud continue to emerge, fellow Married At First Sight contestant, Tamara Joy, has weighed in on the scandal.
WATCH: Tamara lashes out at Jules after dumping Melissa
Taking to her Instagram story, the controversial star— who endured an ill-fated romance with Dan Webb on the strange dating experiment— sided with her “bestie” Melissa, criticising “bridezilla” Jules for using her as a “pawn” to promote her televised wedding— which is set to air on A Current Affair tonight.
“I just want to give Mel my full support here and I just think she was used as a pawn in Jules’ game and I really just want to expose that because that’s exactly how I see it,” Tamara told her followers.
“I think Mel was very graceful in the way that she’s approached the rumours and the way that she’s addressing the fact she did get dumped and she’s not in the wedding.
“But I don’t think I would have been quite as graceful because I talk to her on a daily basis and I know how upset she is, not about the dumping of being a bridesmaid but about the friendship that Jules has severed.”
Tamara went on to speculate Jules dumping Mel was a clever publicity stunt seeing as the scandal made headlines less than a month before Jules tied the knot with Cameron Merchant in a legally binding ceremony.
“She was asked as a bridesmaid on national television but ten dump Mel because it’d go viral and create more media attention for their real-life wedding,” she said. “Mel is a human being and she has feelings and Jules has just thrown those feelings aside because it’s all about her and I think that’s a really sh***y thing for a friend to do.”
Interestingly, co-star Jessika Power echoed a similar sentiment, recently claiming in an Instagram live that Jules is an expert at “milking” the drama and turning bad press into a profit.
“It’s really sad to see that Jules dropped Mel as a bridesmaid but not surprising, it seems everything that woman does these days is calculated and beneficial for her and her only,” Jess began in what quickly became a blistering attack on the makeup artist.
“I think Mel is such a bubbly girl. She’s not about the drama. She’s so open, honest and genuine. So to see her dropped as a bridesmaid… I wasn’t that shocked. I stand by what I said and a lot of what Jules does is calculative. I think she has learnt how to milk what is happening.”
She went on to sarcastically praise Jules, saying: “I mean, good on you and all power to you if you can get things out of this opportunity. But to see somebody like Mel hurt and be shout out and neglected… it’s just sh*t.”
Yesterday, in a heartbreaking video, Melissa revealed she’s still deeply hurt by Jules’ cold” and “hurtful” actions.
“I’ve had so many messages and people keep asking me what the story is. So yes, it is true, Jules dumped me as a bridesmaid,” a tearful Mel began. “As for why, I’m honestly not sure… she kept changing her reasons and none of them made sense.”
She continued: “It really all just came out of the blue and I didn’t see it coming at all. Of course, you’re allowed to change your mind about who you want as a bridesmaid, but I just feel like the way it was done was really cold and rather hurtful.”
Mel later admitted she felt “humiliated” when she discovered Jules and Cam had agreed for their wedding to be televised on A Current Affair.
“I guess it just makes the public dumping of you as a bridesmaid for no reason that little bit more embarrassing, hurtful, confusing,” a distressed Mel revealed. “I wish I was never asked to be a bridesmaid in the first place so I wasn’t in this position.”
