The Met Gala kicks off tomorrow, and it will truly be a night of breathtaking fashion with the technology theme Manus x Machina this year.
The red carpet will be the place to watch as celebs arrive dressed to the nines with their dates – but one thing’s for sure, we won’t be seeing Taylor Swift with Calvin Harris this year.
Instead, she’ll be taking her bestie Selena Gomez and the duo will hit the red carpet together. Of course, this isn’t their first time attending an event together as dates – they hit the red carpet at the Grammys earlier this year together.
Selena Gomez said about their choice to go together: “We are going together. It’s so fun. It’s going to be the best. It’s kind of prom for fashion.”
Both Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have kept things pretty under wraps about what they’re going to wear, but there’s no doubt it will be spectacular – particularly as Taylor Swift is one of the co-chairs of the event this year. Given that they are attending as dates though, there is the possibility that their outfits may coordinate!
The Manus x Machina theme is focusing on the difference between handmade haute couture and machine-made ready-to-wear clothes – so it will certainly be interesting to see what designers come up.
