Actress Teresa Palmer says it can be strange watching yourself kiss someone on the big screen. However, what’s worse is if your dad and husband are watching it too. That awkward scenario happened at the Australian premiere of her new film, Hacksaw Ridge, in Sydney on Oct.16.
“At the premiere I had my Dad on one side and my husband [director Mark Webber] on the other,” the now 34-weeks-pregnant star tells WHO. “They were the worst to people to be sitting next to [watching a romantic scene.] So I just kept looking down at my belly, pretending the baby was moving!”

The Adelaide-born beauty is about to give birth to her second son in Australia and says she’s already making plans for more. “Everyone who knows me knows I want six children,” the mum to Bodhi, 2, and step mum to Isaac, 8, says. “I’m two down, four to go. And my husband just makes boys. So it will be me and six boys. I like having that masculine energy around me.”
Palmer, 30, has received rave reviews and an AACTA nomination for her performance in the Mel Gibson directed film about WWII conscientious objector Desmond Dos. The Adelaide-born beauty says that while the praise is “validating”, the real reward is getting to tell Dos’ story. “At the centre of a war film is a hero who decides not to kill and he doesn’t believe in violence and I think that’s so beautiful,” she says. “We are in a climate where we need these heroic stories.”
