Despite being at the centre of every scandal that’s occurred on this season of The Bachelor, we’re not going to lie, Abbie’s hometown date with Matt was pretty cute. Tonight, Abbie and Matt jetted off to Queensland where she introduced the hunky astrophysicist to her closest friends and family.
As expected, they loved him as much as she did.
When it came time for Abbie to plan her date with Matt, surprisingly, she kept it pretty low key!
“So, um…so, today I thought we would change the pace a bit.”
Rather than going all out, the loved up couple— who were all over each other during their time away together—enjoyed a cute picnic and swim.

As they made out in the pool, Matt confessed, “It is very, very electric when Abbie and I are together. There is a lot of sexual chemistry and, yeah.”
“I’m really lost in the moment with Abbie today. We are really enjoying each other’s company.”
Matt then laughs,” But I’m very aware that there are currently two masseuses that I can only imagine are very uncomfortable with what’s going on.”

The home date is at Abbie’s Uncle Rob’s house.
And Abbie’s mum Laura has questions.
“Now, before I even hit the deck, how has it been, honestly? And has it been stressful or do you just get used to it? Feel comfortable together, do you? Like it’s easy?”
It’s then Matt admits her wants kids, marriage.
And for Mama Abbie, she needs more.
So does Matt.
“I know Laura’s been asking me some questions, but this is an opportunity for me to ask questions myself, and… ..I just want to get the confirmation I need to know that Abbie and I are on the same timeline. This is a make-or-break moment.”
Laura said: “I know Ab wants to be with someone who’s ready to have one partner and be able to plan something for the future long-term. It is nice to know they’re on the same track. And have fun before you have children forever.”
Matt is chuffed: “Laura’s just told me that Abbie does really wanna focus on her career, but that for the right person she’s ready to start a family. And it’s exactly the stuff Abbie’s been telling me all along. For me it was just getting an understanding of, yeah, kind of where she’s at in life and when she would like to do those things, I guess.”
And Abbie – she’s in love.
“You just fit in perfectly with my family, which is hard to do ’cause they’re very loud. “
“My feelings for you have already been, like, exponentially growing. Like, every time I see you I just feel stronger and stronger for you.”
“I really am falling in love with you really quickly.”

Fans of The Bachelor were left scratching their heads last night when Matt snubbed and later eliminated Elly Miles for expressing concerns about Abbie’s intentions. At this point in the competition, Monique Morley, Sogand Mohtat and Matt’s very own best friend, Kate, have all doubted Abbie’s motives, however, he refuses to listen.
While it’s no doubt unsettling, Elly has finally put her finger on why Matt is ignoring everyone… according to the affable nurse, he’s letting their sexual chemistry cloud his judgement.
Seeing as every scandal this season revolved around the property analyst— meaning she’s guaranteed an insane amount of air time— Elly also believes Abbie applied the for series in an attempt to boost her notoriety.

“At the time there were comments being made about going on Bachelor In Paradise and Abbie seemed keen. So I questioned whether she was here for the right reasons if she was already thinking about life without Matt on a different TV show,” the fan favourite recently dished to a local publication. “She was very vocal about wanting to appear on the program.”
Interestingly, Elly isn’t the only contestant who has a theory about Abbie overstaying her welcome. Last week, eliminated Bachie star Kristen Czyszek told Yahoo, that although she hasn’t made herself a favourite in her fellow contestants’ eyes, Matt is yet to see her true colours.
“I think it’s really hard to understand people’s comments when he (Matt) hasn’t seen that side and only experienced wonderful moments with her (Abbie),” Kristen revealed. “Matt knows what he wants and so he’s just pursuing what he wants, that’s why she’s still there.”
“Abbie has such a big personality and we all have different ways of coping in [The Bachelor] environment, she copes with a lot of things through laughs and jokes.”
