Love her, hate her, or just love to hate her, Keira Maguire is already the hottest topic on the just-launched season of The Bachelor.
But despite being painted as the resident villain—and despite already tussling with one of Richie Strahan’s early favourites, Alex Nation, she insists “I wouldn’t even know how to be calculating. And if I was, do you think I would have even said half the stuff I did to the others?”
Her unfiltered opinions and brusque behaviour from day dot caught fire with viewers, who turned out memes and lit up social-media feeds with strong opinions. “To be honest,” says Maguire, “I probably had a few too many champagnes and got carried away. I shouldn’t have drunk so much, but I can’t sit here and have regrets.”
And Maguire, who lands a one-on-one ‘Cinderella Date’ with Strahan in the Aug. 4 episode, says “going on the show was about finding someone, not about getting air time,” and insists that as the weeks go on and the roses dwindle in number, “you’ll see” who joined the show for fame over forever love. “Anyone with a brain can see who’s there to get fame,” says Maguire. “But what a great way to do it! It takes a lot to go on a show like this. So good on ‘em if they are.”
