In the battle for Brooke Blurton’s heart there can only be one winner. For most of the contestants on The Bachelorette Australia, this means being sent home one-by-one in increasingly emotional rose ceremonies.

As Osher Günsberg whispers “sadly, you did not receive a rose”, these contestants will say goodbye to Brooke and their on-screen journeys – returning to starring on a smaller screen via their increasingly popular Instagram pages.

With contestants like Darvid and Jamie well and truly in the running to win Brooke’s heart in the finale, several of the other men and women in the Bach Mansion were kicked out before they’ve even had time to spend 10 minutes chatting with Brooke. That’s showbiz, baby!

Here are all the contestants who’ve been eliminated from The Bachelorette Australia.

Johann, 27

Having barely spent enough time in the mansion to unpack his suitcase or take a sip from one of the VERY colourful champagne glasses, Johann was booted in episode one.

Holy smokes what an experience,” Johann says. “I had a hell of a time. What an amazing group of people to meet and what an absolute gem Brooke is, I wish her all the very best!”

Though his romantic dreams have been dashed, this contestant will live on in the fashion hall of fame as one of few bachelors to ever dress in an interesting and non-velvet-tuxe way. Kudos to you, Johann.

The second man booted from the villa – #yeahthegirls – Beau was a little crushed, but ultimately wished Brooke well when he was eliminated in episode two.

“Short and sweet, just like Brookie,” Beau says of his early elimination. “It was an epic experience nonetheless and I’m wishing all those beauties left the best of luck.

“They really went with the Mr. Confident hey,” he adds of his edit, which showed him to be a little more focused on himself than Brooke in the photoshoot scenes.

Ritu was sadly sent home in the third episode, though she’s not letting her time on Bachie dampen her spirit.

“Representation is important, always has been, and I’m glad I get to show up and be a part of this” she wrote on Instagram before she left.

Another “victim” of the quadruple elimination, Bec says she was “so grateful” to be on the show alongside “every single one of these amazing and incredible women.”

Emily and Darvid were at odds at her final cocktail party, but in the end it was Emily who was sent home. Wishing Brooke well, Emily revealed she was grateful for the friends she’s made.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Bachelorette,” she wrote on Instagram after her elimination. “Unfortunately I didn’t find love with Brooke but I did find it with some amazing friends I’ll keep close to me forever.”

Oh, Matty! He didn’t make it through the quadruple elimination but he did make a funny ‘pros and cons’ list afterwards. And that’s something to be excited about.

“Left roseless! What a wild ride,” he wrote on Instagram. Listing his pros and cons as:

Pros:

  • Breathed the same air as the stunning Brooke, what a woman!
  • Met some incredible people, who I hope to stay friends with for a long time.
  • Got out my comfort zone and enjoyed an incredible experience.

Cons:

  • Still single.
  • Still am terrible with women.
  • Now hate pumpkin.

Carissa, 30

She was an early front-runner on the series, with Sportsbet originally tipping her to come in second place. But in the fifth episode of The Bachelorette Carissa went home. Yep, Brooke got Honey Badgered.

No, not the thing where he picked nobody (has it been long enough that we can give it a little lol?) but the thing where Brooke also walked out of her season of The Bachelor with Nick Cummins. Meaning she was able to understand where Carissa was coming from – even though it deeply upset her.

“I didn’t want to waste Brooke’s time and I didn’t want to take a spot from someone who really wanted to be there,” Carissa told 10 Play after her exit.

“I wasn’t the type of person that was going to really pursue her and get all competitive and try to grab her at cocktail parties,” she added. “It just made me question, if I didn’t feel like I could do what’s needed to make that connection with Brooke then what am I doing?”

Ryan, 29

After being accused of having feelings for Jamie-Lee, Ryan was sent home in a double elimination in the sixth episode. But the contestant tells WHO that the situation was misread.

“It was strictly a platonic friendship, that’s all it was,” he says. “I was closer to [Jamie-Lee] than the other girls, I got along well with her – I think you just naturally get along better with some people than with others. But I think it was just misread by other people.”

Jess, 28

One of the intruders to join in episode four, Jessica was sent home in the double elimination alongside Ryan. She’s thrilled to have been part of the historic season with the first ever bisexual Bachelorette.

“Having that representation of queer women on screen, that’s not hypersexualized or a negative stereotype, is immensely important,” Jess says.

“I’m looking forward to, in the future, seeing more diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community – including more masc or butch women and non-binary people as well.”

As for her connection with Brooke, Jess says they just didn’t “vibe” together. Though she loved her experience on the show, Jess reveals she won’t be heading back into the reality TV dating world as she’s found her own partner outside of the mansion.

“I do have a girlfriend and that’s very exciting,” she says, revealing they did watch the episodes together – which means she’s “very glad” she wasn’t chosen to be on the world record-setting kiss date.

Taje, 23

She may not have found love with Brooke, but Taje was thrilled just to be included in the historic season alongside her. Both proud Indigenous women, it was a significant moment for the 23-year-old contestant.

She was one of two contestants sent home in the rose ceremony after the Mardi Gras group date, but said her tears on-screen were of “relief”.

Taje told Ten: “Maybe it wasn’t meant to be that we were together, but I wished her all the best and it was a beautiful moment to me, especially being another First Nations woman.”

The other contestant to be eliminated after the Mardi Gras event, Steve reveals he “kind of knew” his time was up.

“It’s her story, her journey, her trying to find her person and it wasn’t me! It was someone else in there and that’s what it’s all about really,” he told Ten.

“It was a great honour to be part of such an amazing and fun experience,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m grateful for the memories, the laughs, the tears and the truly special people I met along the way. Wishing Brooke and everyone else the best of luck finding their fairytale.”

Luca

Luca, 25

One of two contestants to be sent home right before hometowns, Luca appeared to have great chemistry with Brooke but was ultimately not the one.

“Unfortunately my time in the Mansion and with Brooke has come to an end,” he wrote on Instagram after his elimination. “I have so much to be grateful for and smile about, Brooke and I just weren’t meant to be, and that’s okay. There are 6 beautiful people left in the mansion for Brooke to find love with and I’m sure she will be happy with whoever that person may be.

“When things don’t work out, we often jump to ‘what’s wrong with me?’ We start to think of all the things wrong with us and try figure out what we could have changed in order to better suit that person. I used to be this way, but I am confident within myself, who I am as a person and what I have to offer my potential partner. This takes time, but if you stay true to yourself you’ll find yourself so much happier in the long run.

“I’ve learnt so much more about myself since being in the mansion and I’ve made best friends I’ll have for the rest of my life.
Who knows when I’ll find the right one, but life always falls into place when it’s meant to.”

Another intruder who was sent home last night, Will says he was “lucky” to have met Brooke and was happy he’d been given a shot on the hit show.

“What an experience! I’ve been lucky enough to meet some beautiful souls and have had an absolute blast. I wish nothing but the best for Brooke and all the remaining legends,” Will wrote on Instagram after the episode. “Take every opportunity that presents itself and run with it.”

Millie, 22

Sent home in a double elimination with Kurt, Millie’s romance with Brooke was short-lived after joining the series mid-way as an intruder.

“I didn’t find love with Brooke, but I can honestly say that I had a truly wonderful time, and I am so honored to have been apart of this experience with a whole bunch of amazing, queer folk that I can now call my friends,” Millie wrote on Instagram after her elimination.

Kurt, 29

He was an under-the-radar contestant, but appeared to have a strong connection with Brooke during their one-on-one time. In the end, it wasn’t meant to be.

“Driving across the country to meet Brooke I tossed up whether or not this was a good idea, knowing I’d struggle a little in this environment,” Kurt wrote on Instagram after the episode. “It only took an ep of awkwardness, an accidental burp and battling trying to create the colour grey to show that, but I didn’t care. I was drawn to Brooke she seemed real and genuine and after getting to know her further I realised she is and so much more.

“It wasn’t meant to be for us and that’s ok. Whilst it hurt for a bit, I took happiness in knowing she was on the path to find her special someone.”

Konrad

Konrad, 31

Konrad was a fan-favourite from the very first episode, but his romance with Brooke was not to be.

This was about her, this was about finding the right person for her and unfortunately that wasn’t me, I will always respect her choice to not take me any further. She had her reasons and she has done what is right,” Konrad said following his elimination.

“Being apart of this is special, but it’s not easy, she has some really tough decisions to make. Even though Brooke and I were not meant to be I’m still extremely proud for being myself, putting myself out there and being vulnerable, I made so many amazing memories and new friends, I would never take this experience back for anything.”

But it’s not all bad news for Konrad, with the contestant excitedly confirming his new relationship with none other than Abbie Chatfield.

Holly, 27

Fan-favourite Holly was the last contestant to be sent home before the Grand Finale, in an emotional episode that had viewers in tears. Slow-dancing her way onto the series, Holly won over fans and Brooke from the very first moment, but it wasn’t meant to be.

“I had really strong feelings for Brooke, but time has definitely helped and I just hope she’s found the one she’s looking for,” she told WHO following her elimination. But it’s not all bad news,

Holly has moved on with fellow Bachie star Millie, saying she’s “very much in love.” We LOVE to see it. Read our full interview with Holly here.

The Bachelorette Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30pm, on 10.
