It’s safe to say Jackson Garlick’s home visit was nothing short of a disaster.

Perhaps the most awkward part of the whole experience was Angie’s deeply uncomfortable tension with the footy player’s dad, who feared the reality TV star was taking her son for a ride.

“Angie’s been in a few reality TV shows, so I guess there’s a question in the back of your mind as to her intentions in the first place,” he explained to the camera before admitting he was worried his son would end up with a “freeloader” who would take him away from their booming family business, Garlo’s Pies.

Naturally, he shocking comments angered Angie, who began questioning whether she could ever fit into his family.

“If that’s what they think, then I’m concerned about the whole thing really,” she said.

After the whole thing blew up, Jackson was sent packing, with the hunky star admitting he saw his elimination coming from a mile away.

“It’s a bit of a joke, my hometown,” she told 10 Daily. “For me, I was expecting to go. I just knew it at the bottom of my heart. I tried to be realistic and that was the point of deciding, when we had that last chat, there was nothing more I could do.”

“I’ve been saying that as soon as Angie met my family… I got the boot! I got some really good advice from my mum and dad, they said I just had to be myself,” he said. “The last thing you’d hate and regret would be if you try to be someone you’re not and you’re shown the door by Angie.”

While he says he doesn’t regret his time on the show, he wishes he had been more open about his feeling for the I’m A Celeb… Get Me Out Of Here! star.

“There were still 18 blokes there, I was like ‘Am I being too rash by talking about my feelings?’ That was the crushing part — like holy s–t, she is an amazing person and she’s so perfect, I couldn’t find a fault. That was the unfortunate, disappointing thing for me,” he said of not sharing his feelings.

Since exiting the competition, Jackson has shown no signs of heartbreak, and was even spotted cosying up to a mystery lady hours before last night’s episode aired— spoiling his exit.
