Just days after it was announced that Sophie Monk would be the next Bachelorette, Channel 10 producers have reportedly been ‘inundated’ with potential suitors.

An insider told The Daily Telegraph that the announcement prompted scores of men to call up and apply for this year’s The Bachelorette.

“They are looking at appealing to perhaps men who are more established, know what they are looking for, as well as single dads,” the source said.

“But Sophie is absolutely open to a younger man as well, and the lower end of the range is 25.”

The source continued: “We absolutely want younger guys to be encouraged to apply, (guys) who know what they want and are confident in themselves.

“Age and type is not a limitation when it comes to finding love.”

Monk, 37, is looking for “an honest, kind and real Australian man to spend the rest of her life with.”

During her appearance on The Project, Monk confessed that she is “pretty fussy” about her choice in men.

The former Bardot singer is also ready to start a family.

“I definitely want a family and I want someone that wants children too. I want to have a normal life like everyone else,” she told News Corp.
