There was plenty of music, mud and celebrities at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. The annual English gathering, now in its 27th year, attracts the biggest names in showbiz for the weeklong extravaganza, and this year was no exception.
The coming-of-age festival at Worthy Farm in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, saw performances from superstars Adele, Coldplay and Goulding, not withstanding the soggy conditions that made gumboots the de rigueur fashion statement piece.

Adele headlined the main stage on June 25, bringing the biggest crowd since the Rolling Stones in 2014. The chart-topping singer, 28, took to Instagram afterwards writing, “I can’t explain how I feel about Saturday night.”
The mother of one left fans in shock after she swore 33 times during her 90-minute set, but it wasn’t the only thing that left her fans speechless: she also invited some audience members onstage during her performance.
The Grammy winner closed the show with her hit ‘Someone Like You’, leaving fans in tears.
Fellow UK songstress Ellie Goulding showed off her rockin’ guitar skills as she took to the main stage on the June 26, the final evening of the festival. Goulding, 29, finished her hit ‘Burn’ by dropping to her knees and playing the electric guitar.
She later shared, “A real honour and dream to play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury earlier this evening. What a beautiful experience!”
The previous day, The Fifty Shades of Grey singer was also seen braving the muddy grounds in gumboots alongside A-listers Suki Waterhouse and Stella McCartney.

Headliners Coldplay were the final act of the five-day festival, performing to a sold-out crowd on June 26.
The concert was a family affair for frontman Chris Martin, 39, who invited his children, daughter Apple, 12 and Moses, 10, onstage to sing the band’s latest single, “Up & Up”. Martin’s ex, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, was also in the wings and captured the proud moment.
On a somber note, Coldplay and the Last Shadow Puppets, Alex Turner’s band, both paid tribute to musicians gone too soon.
Coldplay paid their respects to the Cheshire indie band Viola Beach, who were tragically killed in March when their car was involved in an accident in Sweden.
Meanwhile, the Last Shadow Puppets honoured music pioneer David Bowie, with the English supergroup performing a rendition of ‘Moonage Daydream’.
Glastonbury is a music mecca for celebrity spotting. Prince Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy, socialites Poppy and Cara Delevingne and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer all joined in this year’s festivities.
