Five new couples will take on the biggest construction in Block history when they move into the notorious Gatwick hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne.
The blockheads will have 11 weeks and a budget of $220,000 to transform the site into five luxury apartments.
As usual, all five couples are competing for the $100,000 prize money and any profit made when their apartments go to auction.
It wouldn’t be The Block without a challenge before the real competition actually begins. In the first 48 hours the teams will create a kid’s bedroom from scratch, with the winner given first choice to pick from three apartments or two penthouses.
The twist? The penthouses don’t actually exist yet, and one of the lower apartments has a safe with a hidden prize inside.
The Block premieres on Nine on Sunday, August 5, at 7.00pm.
