Balancing a career and motherhood.
In a column for Stellar on Sunday, the Sunrise news anchor told how she doesn’t for a second regret returning to her demanding career after the births of her two sons, Lachlan, born in 2001, and Hunter, born in 2005.
“I refuse to feel guilty for being away from my children,” she told readers.
Natalie took on her role with Sunrise in 2003, and prior to that worked as a news reporter and anchor for Channel Seven’s news programs.
Her job on the top-rating breakfast program has taken her all over the world, and seen her cover natural disasters, terror attacks and everything royal family-related.
“When I’m at work I concentrate on doing a good job. When I travel for work, I go wholeheartedly and don’t dwell on leaving them,” the 51-year-old explained.
She added that at times she’d forgotten to pick her sons up from school and even found her eldest wandering the streets as a toddler after he escaped from a family friend’s home!
She admitted, “I found Lachlan on a road once when he disappeared from a friend’s place as a toddler.”
