The hunky Scotsman will be joined by newcomer Renee Bargh who is currently based in Los Angeles and stars as the co-host of the weekend edition of Extra.
“It’s an absolute dream come true to be heading home to Australia and joining The Voice family”, said Renee who has been firm friends with coach Delta Goodrem for many years.
“When it comes to entertainment television, it doesn’t get much bigger or more dynamic than The Voice. I’ve always been a huge fan of the show and am looking forward to meeting the next wave of incredibly talented Aussie artists”.

Darren— who hosted the show from 2012 to 2015— is equally as excited to return to the stage.

“I’ve hosted a lot of fun shows around the globe since leaving but nothing compares to the buzz you get from walking out onto The Voice stage,” said Darren, who once hosted alongside Sonia.

“The seasons that I hosted were the most fun I’ve ever had in television, and I can’t wait to pick up the reigns again to front the biggest show in Australia.”
Taking back the reigns shouldn’t come as a huge shock to fans of the series. In the last year, Darren has starred in the reboot of SeaChange and also appeared heavily on The Masked Singer.
Of course, all four coaches from last year will return, with Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Kelly Rowland and Boy George gearing up to battle it out in the hope of discovering the next rising star.

News of the hosting changeup comes after rumours began swirling that Sophie Monk was set to take over the gig after Sonia defected to Seven. Her new duties at Nine’s rival now include her hosting family reality show Mega Mini Golf, judge Australia’s Got Talent: The Champions, play a role in Seven’s Tokyo Games coverage and possibly play a role in Big Brother, which she previously hosted on Nine.
