Married at First Sight relationship experts John Aiken, Mel Shilling and Dr Trisha Strafford don’t actually know any of the show’s stars, says Aleks Markovic, despite matching them with the ‘soulmates’ and counselling them throughout the social experiment.

The Perth-based star, who was unsuccessfully paired with Sydney real estate agent Ivan Sarakula, claims that while they were ‘nice’, they didn’t actually talk to them off camera.
‘I mean, they were nice people, I suppose,’ Aleks told her Instagram followers during a Q&A, when quizzed about John, Mel and Trisha.
She added: ‘I didn’t know them well enough. We weren’t really talking to them. It wasn’t them talking to us, if you know what I mean.’
Aleks’ comments come after viewers slammed the show’s experts for their dud match-making efforts and lacklustre advice.
Of the show’s 12 couples, just one is pursuing a relationship outside the social experiment, Lizzie Sobinoff and Seb Guilhaus.
‘I’m a MAFS fan, but the lack of successful couples this season might be because the experts actually didn’t offer any expert advice. To me they just wanted to know if they were intimate,’ commented one fan via Twitter, while another said: ‘Appropriately lacklustre finale to a consistently lacklustre season of MAFS. Never really got out of first gear, unfortunately.’
