A fellow contestant fainted from dehydration.

Tiffany Scanlon has opened up about the terrible treatment she and her fellow contestants received during their time on The Bachelor.

The star who competed for Richie Strahan’s heart on the last season of the show told Confidential that the stars endured a harsh filming environment.

“We had no water, no fans and it was like an oven in the candle-lit room,” Scanlon said.

The former air-hostess also claimed that a fellow contestant fainted from dehydration during a two-hour rose ceremony because there was no water, Perth Now reports.

In addition, food was not provided at the cocktail parties, therefore the stars were drinking alcohol on an empty stomach.

“The first cocktail party was filmed over two nights and filming ran from about 9pm until 5am both nights,” she said.

“It was exhausting. They had packaged meals for between the cocktail party and the rose ceremony.

“But we would get hungry and get drunk more easily as the alcohol flowed freely.”

Scanlon, who went on to date fellow contestant Megan Marx, also claimed that producers told her what to say throughout the show.

“They would reword your response to their question and ask if that’s what you meant to say, or want you to condense what you said, but they would put words in your mouth,” she said.

“You had to be pretty switched on to it and I had to say a few times ‘no that’s not what I meant’.”

She continued: “They’d try to get you angry or upset and then flip back to talking about what they really wanted.”

“For example, when I left the show I am seen crying, seemingly for Richie, but what upset me was the producers asking if I could send a message to Megan, what would I want to say to her?”

Warner Bros, the show’s producers, have responded to Scanlon’s allegations, saying: “Warner Bros takes participants’ duty of care seriously.

“This includes (responsibly serving alcohol), with adequate food provided at all times.”
