Taking to Instagram, Tracey refuted Lee’s accusations Dean is a chauvinist bigot”, admitting she’s proud of the future Dancing With The Stars contestant for addressing the drama in a respectful manner. Despite their tumultuous past and disastrous marriage, she also vouched for Dean, calling him a “great person”.

“Putting yourself in the tv lights again is a courageous and difficult thing to do – I’m so proud of Dean Wells,” Tracey captioned the Instagram post which included a screenshot of an article about Dean and Lee’s bitter feud.

“It’s just a shame others will try and bring you down, the people that know you, know the truth of the great person you are – and as your friend for the past two years is a testament to that…. you’re going to tear up that dance floor 😉,” she concluded.

A slew of reality stars also rushed to Dean’s defence, with former MAFS contestant Jules Robinson saying she “couldn’t agree more”. Jesse Konstantinoff also showed his support by leaving a love heart emoji under the post.

Her kindhearted comments come after Georgia Love’s fiance tore into Channel Ten for casting Dean in the upcoming season of DWTS. The former Bachelorette contestant revealed on Instagram that he was furious the network was including a “sexist” reality star in their lineup.

“When did this country star celebrating intolerable, sexist, chauvinistic bigots?” Lee wrote alongside a photo of the 2020 cast.

Dean later rejected Lee’s accusations, also admitting he’s choosing to ignore the backlash and focus on his career.

“I am as far from any of those things as a person can be,” said Dean, who once called himself an “alpha male”.

“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. However, if he had ever actually met me, he would know that I am as far from any of those things as a person can be. I don’t judge anyone based on gender, ethnicity, sexuality or any other such traits.

“I am choosing to ignore negativity and focus on the challenge of learning to dance and hopefully raising money for my nominated charity, the BridgIT Water Foundation. That’s what it’s [the show] all about.”

“Dancing with the Stars is such a great show and I am honoured and humbled to be chosen amongst such a talented bunch of people,” Dean concluded.
