Despite the tumultuous cast relationships, Charmed was the perfect witchy TV series of the early 2000s, which aired an impressive eight seasons between 1997 and 2006.

Following a trio of sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, Charmed originally focused on the three Halliwell sisters; Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano). From season four onwards, Long-lost half-sister Paige Matthnews (Rose McGowan) also joined the cast.

In March 2023, Shannen Doherty, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs joined series regulars Brian Krause, Dorian Gregory and Drew Fuller on a panel at 90s Con in Connecticut, where they took part in a Q&A.

Whilst Alyssa Milano was absent, she did take to social media to praise the reunion. “This makes me happy for the OG Charmed fans. What a gift! #90sconvention,” she wrote alongside a picture of the mini-reunion.

Playing Prue Halliwell, Shannen Doherty left fans devastated after leaving the series after season three, with fans speculating she left amid cast feuds. She seemingly confirmed these rumours in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2001.

“There was too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work,” she told the outlet.

In 2008, Shannen joined the cast of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoffs, reprising her role as Brenda and again in 2018 for a six-episode sequel, BH90210

In 2015, Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer, revealing it had spread to her lymph nodes. In 2016 she underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In February 2020 she announced that her cancer had returned a year prior and that she was now fighting stage four cancer.
