Luckily, the hit Aussie murder-comedy is back, ready to deliver another wild, gruesome and laugh-out-loud season.
Prime Video has officially announced that the second season of Aussie fan-favourite Deadloch will hit screens next year and this time, detectives Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) are trading in the icy Tasmanian vibes for the sticky, sweltering heat of Australia’s Northern Territory.
Season 1 of Deadloch was a global sensation, landing in the Top 10 TV shows in over 165 countries and racking up five AACTA Awards, including Best Acting in a Comedy for Kate Box.
With creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan back at the helm, executive producing alongside Guesswork Television and OK Great Productions.
WHO spoke to the cast and creators behind the second season with returning actresses Kate Box and Madeleine Sami summarising the season in four words: “Thrushy. Sweaty. Beguiling. Emotional.”

What is the plot for Deadloch season two?
Forget Tassie Noir. Season 2 enters what the creators are calling its Tropical Gothic era, complete with red dirt roads, lush canopies and glassy waterways full of 65-million-year-old predators.
The stakes are higher and the crimes are stickier than ever.
When Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy, turns up dead, alongside the body of a local icon, Dulcie and Eddie are thrown into a croc‑infested case.
Speaking with WHO, Kate Box noted that her character is having “a rough adjustment period, physically, emotionally, spiritually, professionally” this season.
“She’s flapping on the land, gasping for air,” she said. “She’s happy to be with Eddie still, but not necessarily acclimatising very well to her new environment, which is fun.”
Who is the cast of Deadloch season two?
Returning to the cast are familiar faces like Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama, and Alicia Gardiner.
New additions include Luke Hemsworth, Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Jean Tong (making their acting debut), as well as some other Aussie stars ready to bring chaos, comedy, and crime to the tropical town of Barra Creek.
