What’s the difference between the My Life With The Walter Boys TV show and the books?
Whilst the TV series stays true to the young adult romance themes, the Netflix adaptation definitely turns up the drama.
In the book, Jackie is a picture-perfect straighty-180 student trying to adjust after the loss of her parents in a tragic car crash. But in the show, her backstory is a lot more intnese, and she is portrayed as a lot less perfect, which makes her on screen persona more raw.
And then there’s the love triangle, between bad boy Cole and sweet Alex, with lots of steamy tension along the way.
The series also fleshes out the rest of the Walter brothers more than the book does, giving us even more reasons to fall for the whole messy, lovable family.
Is there a Season 2 of My Life With The Walter Boys?
Yes! *Spoiler Alert* we all know that the first season gave us a very emotional back-and-forth teen drama where Jackie finally chooses Alex.
But, of course, Cole is still in love with her, leaving us with a total plot twist at the end of the first season.
The season ends with Jackie walking away from both boys with a suitcase in hand.
So sadly, we have all been left waiting since December 7, 2023 for the second season.

What happened in Season 1 of My Life With The Walter Boys?
After losing her parents and sister in a tragic house fire, 15-year-old Jackie Howard, a NYC teen, must move to rural Colorado to live with the Walter family, her mum’s old friend’s huge family.
As she adjusts to her new life, living in a household of 12 boys, Jackie finds herself caught in a messy love triangle with two of the brothers, Cole (classic bad boy) and Alex (sweet and stable). This never looks good, does it…
She dates Alex, but it’s clear her connection with Cole is undeniable, which leads to jealousy and, of course, heartache.
By the end of the season, Jackie makes the ultimate plot twist and instead of choosing between the two, she leaves Colorado for the summer to clear her head, ending the season on a huge cliffhanger.
