Friends wouldn’t be the same without Matt LeBlanc’s iconic ladies-man Joey Tribbiani.
But did you know the loveable larrikin was supposed to be played by another Hollywood heavyweight?
According to The Sun, Vince Vaughn was originally considered for the role after auditioning back in 1994.
But although casting director Ellie Jannar recognised the ‘tall and handsome’ star as a ‘good actor,’ he was turned down for the gig.
Instead, Vaughn went on to appear in the indie hit Swingers with Jon Favreau, who was also linked to the 90’s sitcom after passing up the part of Chandler Bing.
Favreau did appear on the show eventually however, playing MMA fighter Pete Becker in season 3.
LeBlanc starred on Friends until the show’s end in 2004 before reviving his much-loved character in the spin off Joey.
The long-running success of the show also kick-started the international careers of its other cast members including Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow.
