Following a record-breaking performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Matildas are returning to the field for Round 3 of the Asian Olympic Qualifiers.

The girls in green and gold have been busy since the World Cup wrapped up in August 2023,  with many heading back to the UK to play in the Women’s Super League. Meanwhile, other players put their football skills to use at home in the A-League

Now, the Tillies have reunited to face off against Uzbekistan in the latest round of qualifying ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The Matildas started their path to Paris in October 2023 when they took on Iran in their opening game of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 in Perth.

Where can I watch the Matildas games?

While official viewing partners have not yet been confirmed, based on the Matildas Round 2 games, fans in Australia can catch all the action live and free via 10 Bold (WA, QLD & NT) and Channel 10 (NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS & SA). The match will be simulcast on the 10 Play app and on Paramount+ for fans across Australia.

For fans hoping to catch all the action in person, the Matildas’ second game against Uzbekistan will be taking place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. If you’re eager to grab some last-minute tickets, Ticketmaster still have a range of seats available, but be quick!

Unfortunately for everyone not on the West Coast, this will mean staying up later to get your soccer screen time in. But for the Tillies? We’ll happily spare a few hours of sleep.

Who is on the Matildas 2024 Olympic Games squad?

The official Paris 2024 team will be confirmed following the qualifiers, however, the current Olympic Qualifiers starting line-up is looking very strong.

Head Coach Tony Gustavsson has picked a stellar line-up, with Steph Catley taking to the field as Captain of the squad.

Fan-favourite keeper Mackenzie Arnold will be back, along with Ellie Carpenter, Kyra Cooney-Cross, Caitlin Foord, Mary Fowler, Katrina Gorry, Charlotte Grant, Michelle Heyman, Clare Hunt, Alanna Kennedy, Chloe Logarzo, Aivi Luik, Teagan Micah, Clare Polkinghorne, Hayley Raso, Amy Sayer, Kaitlyn Torpey, Emily Van Egmond, Cortnee Vine, Clare Wheeler, Jada Whyman, and Tameka Yallop.

Sadly for Tillies fans, Sam Kerr will not be participating on the field for the foreseeable future after sustaining an injury to her ACL in early January 2024.
