Watching the trailer for The Girl Before will give you the chills. It’s like a creepy 50 Shades of Grey meets You, with a sprinkle of Girl on the Train for good measure. With an excellent cast, of course.

What is The Girl Before about?
The bestselling novel by JP Delaney was described as “riveting” by fellow suspense novelist Lisa Gardner when it was released – so what can we expect from the adapted miniseries?
The Girl Before tells the story of Jane (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who gets the highly sought after chance to move into a beautiful, ultra-minimalist house in London designed by a charming architect (David Oyelowo).
There’s just one catch: to live in the home, she must abide by his long list of increasingly weird and specific rules. Jules begins to feel that the house is changing her in unexpected ways, when she makes a shocking discovery about the previous tenant, Emma (Jessica Plummer). Did we mention Emma looks exactly like Jane? Well, she does.
As the two women’s timelines interweave and mysteries unfold, Jane begins to question if her fate will be the same as the girl before.
When does The Girl Before premiere?
The BBC One and HBO Max four-part series is due to premiere on February 10, 2022.
Where can you watch The Girl Before in Australia?

Should you read the book before watching the TV show?
That’s really a call for you to make, pal. The suspenseful novel received rave reviews when it was released and costs just $17.95 from Booktopia. So it’s a safe bet if you’re a book-lover.
Author JP Delaney was also a major part of the adaptation process, serving as creator, writer and executive producer. So if you prefer your adapted TV shows to remain close to the original book, we think you’ll be pleased with The Girl Before.
