In the wake of Kaitlynn Carter’s deeply honest essay about falling in love and breaking it off with Miley Cyrus, we’ve all been asking ourselves the same question: How is she coping?

Well, according to her Hills: New Beginnings co-star, Whitney Port, Kaitlynn is doing surprisingly well considering her ex-girlfriend has not only moved on with another man but has been flaunting her new romance all over social media.
“She’s fine,” the reality TV star told Us Weekly. “I mean, I haven’t — I don’t talk to her on a daily basis, but, like, last time I was with her she was happy and taking care of herself.”
Earlier this week, Brody Jenner’s ex-wife opened up about her six-week fling with the “Slide Away” singer, recounting the moment she fell in love while they were travelling through Europe.
“This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her,” Kaitlynn wrote.
“Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. As my friend and I spent that August travelling through Europe together and trying to move past our respective breakups, my first and only romance with a woman was born. It just happened and it felt exactly right,” Kaitlynn continued.
“Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realized I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with other friends, but until that trip, it had never crossed my mind to think of her in a romantic sense.”
Despite only dating for six weeks— with People reporting Miley called time on their romance because it was moving too fast— The Hills: New Beginnings star said her relationship with the former Disney alum helped her discover critical parts of her identity she had subconsciously suppressed.
“While it was short-lived, I’ll remain eternally grateful to my most recent relationship for opening my eyes to this unexplored part of myself, and for inspiring a new level of self-discovery and wonder at all the possibilities of life. I’ve been forced to get to know myself in a far deeper way than ever before, and not just in terms of my sexual preferences. I’ve also been forced to reckon with who I am as a person.”
She concluded: “Although the relationship with my friend was often referenced in the media as merely a ‘summer fling’ or a ‘same-sex affair,’ it was so much more than that. This was a profound journey of self-discovery. For the first time, I listened to myself, forgot about the ‘norm,’ and lived. Remain curious. Know that there are many layers within you—and they just might be the most invaluable ones.”
Her deeply profound revelations come after she told her Instagram followers she was struggling to come to terms with everything that’s transpired in the last few weeks.
After posting a bikini shot to Instagram which showed off her slender physique, one of her followers said they were concerned for her health, claiming she’s “too thin”.
“Oh Kaitlynn u look too thin r u ok you are so beautiful hope all is ok,” the fan commented. “It was nice to see you healthy for a bit modelling it was normal it seems like the new norm is being shown as super-thin is only exceptional.”
While she’s never one to respond to her fans on social media, she hit back, writing: “I mean I been through some sh*t lately LOL.”
She’s since deleted the comment.
