The Block‘s Scott Cam has opened up about why the series may never return to Sydney.
According to the popular TV presenter, Sydney’s strict council makes it too difficult to film the series there.
“We need to get the council on board with us. That’s our biggest problem,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
The first and only season of the series was filmed in Sydney where couples competed for the top prize in Bondi.
“The Victorian Government realise that we bring about $20 million into the economy … we don’t have catering, so the 150 tradies all go off site to buy their food,” Cam joked.
His co-star Shelley Craft added: “Councils are great to us [in Melbourne], most of our production team and crew have relocated, real estate is obtainable in Melbourne and so for so many reasons we are here.”
Just yesterday it was confirmed The Bachelorette star Lee Elliot will be appearing on The Block as a plumber. The Bachelor‘s Sam Wood has also been confirmed to go on the series as contestant Elyse Knowles’ personal trainer, according to News Corp.
