The actor who is known for playing the loveable Jack was joined by co-stars Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, and Megan Mullally to address the popular TV show’s revival at 2017 TCA Summer Press Tour on August 3 in Beverly Hills.

“I’ve become hopefully more self-aware about [myself and my] place in the world — I wasn’t ready to come out then,” the 47-year-old told TheWrap at the function.

“It’s nobody’s business what anybody’s sexual orientation is, and I thought that Sean really took a lot of heat and was under a great amount of pressure to come out, and I was offended by that,” Mullally said.

Before Hayes reflected, “At the time, I didn’t have the DNA to speak for an entire community. I didn’t know how to do that, and I wish I did. But now I find words come easy.”

Bless. We’re glad he’s at peace now!
