Just over two weeks since entering the South African jungle for season three of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, model Kris Smith is struggling with near starvation.
Living off a staple diet of rice and beans, which all up equates to about 800 calories per day, he complained to Ash Pollard in last night’s episode. “I feel like I’m not the kind of upbeat self I usually am,” Dannii Minogue’s ex confessed to the former My Kitchen Rules contestant. “I’m just … a shadow of my former self. I’m just here now thinking, I could be smashing through my PT course instead of being here, you know.”

Earlier in the series, Smith opened up about his own lingering body image insecurities. “I was really short and heavy as a kid,” he told his campmates. “I always still see that. With age and growing up, I always had that little demon in my head that I was still that little fat kid.”
