Do you know what’s brave? Confirming the third season of a show when the second one hasn’t even come out yet.
Now THAT’S confidence, which YOU creator definitely has.
The show has already been confirmed for a second season after its huge success with season one, but hell, that hasn’t even started filming yet!
Co-creator and executive producer Sera Gamble has discussed their ideas for the third series. Talking to Cosmopolitan, she said, “Absolutely it could come back for season three.
“First of all, it’s up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue.
“I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer’s] room every day. So my fingers are crossed… I’ll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show.”
The series, which is on a novel by Caroline Kepnes, stars Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley as bookstore manager Joe Goldberg.
In the first season, Joe meets Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), who he becomes scarily obsessed with, turning into a full-blown stalker/killer.
The second series will be based on the sequel novel Hidden Bodies, where Joe relocates to Los Angeles from New York to “put his past behind him”.
YOU has been so successful, that the company says the show will get more than 40 million views from members within its first four weeks (a period that ends on Jan. 23).
